Setting standards for the competition industry for 28 years! A true competition experience focusing on realistic scoring and awards. Judges must have extensive teaching experience and include training young dancers. World of Chinese Opera
The USM School of Music and Confucius Institute welcome a troupe of professional actors and musicians to give a performance of Chinese opera. The program will feature Beijing opera excerpts, including movement and music, traditional Chinese instruments, and lively Chinese folk songs. All performers are trained by China's foremost institution on Chinese opera art, The National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, the partner institution of the Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera at Binghamton University, State University of New York.

Portland Ballet Year End Showcase
Portland School of Ballet’s Year End Showcase features students in Pre-Ballet up through PSB’s Pre-Professional Division. The performance will include classwork demonstrations by each level and choreography outside of the classical ballet genre. The second Act of our Showcase will include a reprise of Coppélia from our Building Ballets series without the lecture/demonstration aspect. Audience members will be able to enjoy the students of PSB performing an abridged version of this classical ballet.

Lawrence’s short story, Rocking Horse Winner explores the relationship between Paul, a young man with autism, and his emotionally distant mother.
